South Coast beaches include the famous Praa Sands (pictured left) a mile long, south west facing stretch of firm golden sand and Marazion, overlooking St Michael's Mount and very popular as a family beach. Or why not try Poldhu Cove or Gunwalloe Church Cove on the Lizard Peninsula.

Both of these face west and are quite well sheltered. Ample car parking is available.

On the North Coast you could head for Sennen Cove (pictured on the right) or Hayle.

Or if you enjoy surfing you may wish to venture a little further from the Crown to visit the UK's Surfing capital in Newquay.
